What is the Urban Massage Pay-it-Forward Program?
The Urban Massage Pay-it-Forward Program is a donation-matching, community nomination initiative based in Grand Rapids, Michigan. It enables clients to nominate people they know who would benefit from professional massage therapy — but may not otherwise be able to access it.
Urban Massage matches all client donations dollar-for-dollar. At the end of each month, for every $70 in combined funds, one nominee is randomly selected to receive a complimentary $70 massage credit.

Submit a Nomination in Person
During your next visit to Urban Massage in Grand Rapids, ask for a nomination card at the front desk. Write the name of the person you'd like to nominate ; someone who could use a little self-care. Nominations without a donation are accepted, but we suggest a $5 contribution to help grow the pool.
Urban Massage Matches All Donations
At the end of every month, Urban Massage totals all client contributions and matches that amount dollar-for-dollar. This doubles the impact of every donation to the program.
Winners Are Drawn from the Nomination Pool
For every $70 in combined funds, one nomination card is drawn. For example: $70 total = 1 winner; $140 total = 2 winners. Any remaining amount rolls over into the following month's pool.
Winners Receive a $70 Massage Credit
Urban Massage contacts each winner directly and adds a $70 credit to their account. Winners can use this toward a 30-minute massage or apply it to any other qualifying service — whenever they're ready. If a winner declines, another name is drawn.

Frequently Asked Questions
Do I have to nominate someone?
No. Urban Massage accepts nominations without a donation. However, a suggested $5 contribution is encouraged, as it increases the total monthly pool and raises the number of winners who can be drawn.
How much is the massage credit worth?
Each winner receives a $70 credit on their Urban Massage account. This is enough to cover a 30-minute massage session or can be applied toward another service at the studio.
How often are winners selected?
Drawings happen at the end of every month. The number of winners depends on total funds collected: one winner is drawn for every $70 in the pool. Any leftover funds carry over to the next month.
Can I nominate someone who isn't a current client?
Yes. Anyone you nominate is eligible to win, regardless of whether they've visited Urban Massage before. Winners will be welcomed as new clients and treated with the same care and respect as all Urban Massage clientele.
